About David

David is a full-fledged technology leader. Whether it's programming, networking, security or figuring out the total cost of ownership, David is a valuable technologist.

David Bernick has been developing and leading SaaS environments for almost 15 years. One of his first experiences is an early employee of the well-known Slashdot.org (as well as the sister-service sourceforge.com).

After leaving VALinux, Slashdot's parent company, David became Director of Systems Engineering for Angstrom Microsystems developing large computing clusters for government labs, Akamai and rendering clusters for the Hollywood animation industry. His computer designs have been used at Dreamworks and Pixar and were heavily used for the fur rendering in Monster’s Inc.

In 2002, David became one of the first technology employees of the award-winning Lextranet.com, an SaaS for Electronic Discovery and Legal Case Management. For over 5 years, David was instrumental in the design, execution and leadership of Lextranet until its eventual and successful sale to The Merrill Corporation in 2007 (for 14 times the EBITDA price). After this, David was promoted to Vice President of Enterprise Architecture and Security for Merrill's Legal business unit ($300M/2000 employees). There he lead an overhaul in technology and security across that organization.

David graduated with a Bachelors of Science from Emerson College in Computer Animation. David has been a speaker at various hacker conferences and holds the CISSP certification.
